About Jimmy

JIMMY MAC, is a self-taught Musician, born in New Zealand but took to music in Melbourne, Australia. Originally inspired by Slash from Guns'n'Roses but truely found himself when he discovered he could sing & play this new "grunge" style of music. Thank god for Nirvana & Pearl Jam. Wanting to be like his idols he started an original band called "TURD" featuring Robert James Madden(R.I.P) on bass & Daniel Noss on drums, they played for about 18 months making 3 filmclips that were featured on rage(Australian music TV) regularly over a 3 month period, unfortunately the band had broken up before the filmclips were complete.

 That was a turning point for Jimmy, figuring if he honed his skills on playing solo acoustic he didn't have to rely on other musicians to play gigs & get work. After writing some mellower songs & playing solo opening for bands in Melbourne he recorded a 7 track EP at Trueform music thanks to 'Dean Fisher'  before he left Melbourne to go snowboarding & work as a radio DJ on "The Zone" in Queenstown, New Zealand. 

 Well when things went pear shaped for "The Mac" @ "The Zone"(as they do for some inexperianced radio DJ's), Jimmy fell on his feet playing covers, solo & in Bands, "The Deadline" & "Afterglow" in some/most of the local bars in Queenstown. It's been ten years playing music & making people happy for a living, so you can trust Jimmy has plenty of experiance & is a true professional.
